THE WELLSPRING TEAM 2017-2018
Creative Director/Head of School: Ms. Jamiylah Jones, Ed.D.
Because of our aligned educational values, expectations, and vision for providing students with relevant, rigorous, and meaningful learning experiences through creativity, innovation, technology, and personalization, I come to the Wellspring community with over fifteen years in education as a teacher, assistant principal, and principal working in k-12 schools in both in the United States and abroad. My passion for instructional leadership and school improvement is a natural complement to the Wellspring model.
I enjoy traveling, reading, and learning about different cultures. During my non-working hours, I can usually be found taking long walks in the park reflecting and planning.
Administrator: Ms.Radeyah Ishmael
Our career paths are as unique as our fingerprints. Believing in what is right, being able to love what is being accomplished, and having a strong belief of the structure in which is being built, are key components to succeed. The craving of fulfilling the attainments of culture, love and comprehensive learning is a devotion of mine. Assisting an ever evolving society of young and like minded intuitions leads to a gift of endless possibilities. Opening up worlds of resourcefulness to the atmosphere created, fascinates my intellectuality like no other.
As willingness equate my weaknesses, finding the balance for those around me is a reward worth attaining. I really and truly enjoy the ambiance of learning, as it is a treasure to those who allure themselves within its roots. Assisting the aid of others suffices my thirst of loyalty.

Certified Teacher (Oct. 2016)

When it comes to the classroom, I strive in maintaining a comfortable environment where my students can express themselves freely without the fear of being judged for their opinions or values. With this, it not only allows them to gain perspective of a range of differing views around them as well as increase awareness in how the use of certain words can affect others negatively or positively.
Like the Wellspring Model, I too, believe that it is important to boost student self-esteem as well as morale by creating learning environment where students feel like they are not at odds with one another. Through the competition vs. cooperation learning method, every student comes out a winner in every situation and thus further increases their tenacity to challenge themselves more and more.
My exuberant and conscientious personality allows me to show my students that it is healthy to laugh at ourselves every now and then but to also remember that it is important to put 100% effort in everything we do in order to be successful in life.
When I am not teaching or lesson prepping, you might find me free writing or reading. Occasionally you might even find me playing video games or exploring new culture and cuisines.

Islamic Studies: Mr. Zakareeya Baksh
Hafidh of Quran
FKAD ADP Program Graduate in Arabic and Islamic Studies
Teaching children is something that I enjoy, because instilling Islamic values in young Muslims gives them the tools to grow up to be great members of society. When we focus on education, we fulfill an obligation, as the Prophet peace and blessings be upon him told us that seeking knowledge is an obligation.
I am very passionate about learning and teaching our religion. Teaching Islam is especially rewarding, because every time someone acts upon what you teach them, you receive the exact same reward as them. This is an investment we can make for the hereafter.
I enjoy reading and reciting Qur’an when I am not working. I also enjoy spending time with family, because family is very important to me. The upkeep of Islamic values is personally very important to me, and I try to implement them in my life in every situation. We are not perfect, but we must strive to do the best we can, and learn from the mistakes we make.
